I'm Hannah, Mummy to Reuben who is almost 6, and four year old Amelie. Mummy also to our other 2 family members Nettie and Digby dogs.
Reuben has been in cloth since he was 2 weeks old and Amelie from her 2nd day. I've just learnt about cloth as I've gone along and by talking to other families mostly online.
I offered to volunteer a year ago as I wanted to help other families realise there is another option from disposables and to have a try before you buy opportunity.
We've managed to get the Ipswich group up and running again and in the last year we've got busier and busier. We're hoping that over time it will grow more and we can reach more people right across the Ipswich area.
If you live in the Ipswich area and want to find out more about cloth we try to have a monthly meet up and demonstration these are usually at Suffolk Babies in Kesgrave. We can also organise a demonstation at a time suitable for you if you can't make the monthly meet.
To try out cloth we have 1 newborn kit, 3 Birth to Potty Kits (thanks Coastal and Waveney branches for your loans) and we currently have the Potty training kit too.
The best way to get in touch is through our Facebook page Suffolk Cloth Nappies - Ipswich or send us an email.
I’m a mum of two, Delilah who is almost 4, and Archie who is 4 weeks. I'm a midwife and Lactation Consultant (in my professional life!) and I co-run the Ipswich branch of Suffolk Cloth Nappies.
We've used cloth with both our littles, from 1 month with Delilah and from birth with Archie.
I started using cloth with my daughter from birth and after a few initial hiccups, and some time taken to get to know what suited us best (very heavy wetters in this household!) we loved it. We chose to use cloth to be more eco friendly and also as a more cost effective option than disposables. Cloth also led us down the route of early toilet learning and had our oldest using the potty by 12 months (which saved lots of washing and nappy changes!) so if you're interested in chatting all things toilet training, early toilet learning etc. get in touch!
We loved pocket nappies and all in ones and found bamboo was our fav fabric! Our go to brands were Little Lambs, TotsBots and Bare & Boho. :)
I’m originally from Australia and am now living in Ipswich with my hubby and kids. I am a craft lover and often to be found at the sewing machine (whipping up a new set of cloth wipes or clothes for the kids!), and also enjoy baking and cake decorating :)
